John spoke to 5 Live Drive鈥檚 Tony Livesey about the importance of inclusivity for those with special needs.

He said: 鈥淚鈥檝e seen special needs kids just grinning from ear to ear when they score a goal [or] get the the nearest Bocchia ball to the jack, just because they鈥檝e been allowed to do it.鈥�

He kayaked the 108-mile journey from Cricklade in Wiltshire to Eton in Berkshire without prosthetics - instead using a ring attached to the paddle which was rotated by his elbows to create resistance and pull.

Finishing: 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 have role models when I was young, and I鈥檓 really, really keen that people can see that this is possible.鈥�
