Taliban bans girls over 10 from school
Taliban officials have reportedly banned girls over 10 years of age from attending school classes in some provinces of Afghanistan in its latest set of restrictions against female education.
According to 蜜芽传媒 Persian, Taliban officials from the Ministry of Education told school principals in Ghazni province that "any girl over 10 years of age is not allowed to study in primary schools."
The directive has sparked widespread concerns over women's rights and access to education in the country.
Shukria Barakzai is a former member of Afghanistan鈥檚 parliament. She told Newsday that girls under the age of 10 are also impacted: 鈥淚f physically they look a bit more鈥igger, they are not allowed to go.鈥�
