Marie Gentles OBE is a behaviour expert who believes a compassionate approach is the best way to help young people change their behaviours.

At Beacon Hill Academy in Dudley, West Midlands, Marie meets year-ten pupil Jayliyah who鈥檚 been clashing with the school鈥檚 strict behaviour policy and is at risk of permanent exclusion. Jayliyah has already been excluded from two other secondary schools and could struggle to find another if she鈥檚 kicked out of Beacon Hill. Working with Jayliyah and her mum Gemma, and the school, can Marie turn things around before it鈥檚 too late?

Meanwhile, Taylor in year 11 is struggling with an overwhelming low mood. It鈥檚 affecting Taylor鈥檚 studiesiIn her GCSE year, as she鈥檚 missing lessons every day. Alongside other agencies, Marie offers guidance to help Taylor learn to cope with her feelings.
