The Percy Grainger Music Mix

Percy Grainger was known for his experimental compositions and folk melodies. Listen and hear some of his most notable work and the compositions of his fellow folk enthusiasts.

Australian-born composer Percy Grainger was known for his love of folk melodies, experimenting with musical forms – and a passion for BDSM.

From his popular settings of Country Gardens to ‘Danny Boy’, this playlist explores Percy’s love of Bach and Delius, as well as the music of his fellow folk enthusiasts Vaughan Williams and Holst. With a passion for Nordic culture, hear the music of close collaborator Edvard Grieg and composer Agathe Backer-Grøndahl, alongside Amy Beach, a pianist and composer, who, like Percy, was performing as a soloist around the world.

Listen only on ѿý Sounds.
