TV presenter and mum of five, Stacey Solomon, shares her secret on getting her children to tidy their rooms when they鈥檙e messy.

Stacey told 5 Live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanayake: 鈥淚t鈥檚 up to them if they want to live in filth, I absolutely don鈥檛 have time to be tidying their rooms鈥�.

鈥淪ometimes their rooms need to be disgusting for a while for them to not be able to live in it or do their homework鈥� and then they start tidying up after themselves!鈥�

Stacey said for this plan to work, she鈥檚 had to play the 'long game'. She said: "There鈥檚 a horrible phase in-between where they blame you for losing things鈥�.

For her kids to want to keep up with it, it has taken a 鈥渃ouple of years鈥� but only a few weeks for them to hate where they鈥檙e living,鈥� Solomon added.
