The new military rulers in the west African state of Gabon have certainly moved faster than others in the region to give their regime a civilian veneer, appointing a prime minister in a transitional government. Last week Gabon's President Ali Bongo was ousted by soldiers shortly after disputed election results gave him victory. Raymond Ndong Sima is the newly appointed prime minister. Newshour's Julian Marshall spoke to him through a translator. Why did he accept the military's invitation to lead a transitional government?
