PM won't commit on Brum council crisis or HS2 future
The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has again declined to confirm the HS2 railway will stretch from Birmingham to Manchester. Asked on ѿý Radio WM, he replied that there were “spades in the ground” to make sure the “first part of this line from Birmingham to central London” was completed.
But the Prime Minister then moved his answer on to local transport. He said it was also important to invest “in the transport [people] use every day”, making sure roads were free of potholes and bus services were reliable and frequent.
The Prime Minister feels that the Labour led council in Birmingham has been terribly mismanaged & it is now up to government appointed commissioners to sort out future plans.
