Arsenii Handzii, a Year 10 student at Chase High School in Westcliff, has made an incredible start to sporting life in the UK.

Since arriving in Essex from Ukraine in the summer of 2022, the teenager experienced success in basketball and high jump, before his teachers began training him for the pentathlon.

Arsenii finished sixth in the National Pentathlon Final in September, putting him among the top athletes in the country.

He hopes to compete at the Olympics in the future.
