HS2 scrapped - 'Shocking way to find out'
After weeks of speculation, the Prime Minister has announced that the high-speed rail line - going north from the West Midlands - will be scrapped.
Latest estimates put the total cost at about 71 billion pounds - but that was based on 2019 prices so doesn't include a more recent spike in costs for materials and wages.
PM Rishi Sunak will now instead look to alternative projects in the north of England.
So where does that leave us in the West Midlands?
