Deal foodbank: "We'll still be here in 5 years"
Over the last 12 months food banks have seen the highest ever levels of need as more and more people have found their incomes do not cover the cost of essentials like heating and food,
In the year to April, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK wide network distributed close to 3 million emergency food parcels to people facing hardship, an increase of 37% from the same period 12 months earlier.
Deal was one of the early foodbanks to open here in Kent more than a decade ago and our reporter Jo Burn went back to look at how the service has changed and the plans for the near future.
