He was speaking after the Labour Party announced a pledge to introduce a more robust financial numeracy in schools, but Martin says he thinks things need to go further.

Speaking on the Martin Lewis podcast, he said it鈥檚 not parents鈥� job to teach their children about financial matters, instead it should be covered as part of the school curriculum.

Martin said: 鈥淯nless we make it easy for our already over-pressured schools and teachers鈥� we will continue to have a huge lack in the financial capability in our country鈥�.
