Martin Lewis: ‘Financial numeracy is not enough - we need financial education’
He was speaking after the Labour Party announced a pledge to introduce a more robust financial numeracy in schools, but Martin says he thinks things need to go further.
Speaking on the Martin Lewis podcast, he said it’s not parents’ job to teach their children about financial matters, instead it should be covered as part of the school curriculum.
Martin said: “Unless we make it easy for our already over-pressured schools and teachers… we will continue to have a huge lack in the financial capability in our country”.
