The mystery of Staffordshire's Prince of Poison

If you are a fan of a true crime mystery, there's a new show with a Staffordshire twist you'll want to see.

It's called 'What's Your Poison?' and it's on at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.

Its all about a 19th century Staffordshire medic called William Palmer - who earned the title of the Prince of Poisoners!

Charles Dickens called him "the greatest villain that ever stood in the Old Bailey" after he was convicted of killing his wife, his alcoholic brother, his mother-in-law and four of his children!

But this new play claims his story might not be all it's cracked up to be and makes you question whether Palmer was a serial killer.

Journalist and author Steve Orme wrote the play and John Goodrum is playing William Palmer.
