UNRWA ‘on verge’ of closing Gaza facilities

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) says it is “on the verge” of shutting down its operations in Gaza.

UNRWA’s Director of Communications, Juliette Touma, told Newsday: “We are on the verge of closing down our operations in Gaza because we are running out of supplies, because our facilities are coming under attack; because our people on the ground are displaced themselves...we lost 14 colleagues who were killed in the past week alone.”
