鈥楬IV does not need to be a thing anymore'

Emma McAnally was diagnosed with HIV in 2016, while she was in a long-term relationship.

Speaking to 5 Live鈥檚 Clare McDonnell, she said: 鈥淲hen that relationship ended, I thought, no one's going to want to be with me, because I'm HIV positive. That's obviously not been the case.鈥

The diagnosis was a shock, but thanks to medical treatment, Emma is living a normal and healthy life - she鈥檚 had two children, who are both HIV negative.

However, she鈥檚 experienced stigma from health professionals.

鈥淚'm a nurse myself so it makes me feel quite ashamed that people still have really false views around HIV.鈥
