Domestic abuse: 'There are concerns about medical records being so easily accessible'

Survivors of domestic abuse and stalking victims have been warned to delete their NHS app or contact their GP after the NHS announced that medical records will now be stored on the app.

Medical practices in England are now expected to have enabled access for patients to see things like immunisations, test results and consultations in their NHS app.

Public affairs manager for domestic abuse charity Refuge, Jess Eagelton spoke to 5 Live's Naga Munchetty about the change.

She said: "If you're concerned about your partner or ex-partner having access ti your phone or medical records, you should contact your GP surgery and ask they switch off access.

"We know by nature that domestic abuse is a hidden crime so some GPs will not be aware".
