Iceland prepares for serious volcanic eruption

A state of emergency is declared a multiplies earthquakes hit the Reykjanes Peninsula. Seismic activity has eased in south-west Iceland, but a volcanic eruption is still expected.

Iceland is declared a state of emergency after a series of earthquakes which hit the Reykjanes Peninsula. Authorities have ordered thousands of people living in the southwestern town to leave as a precaution.
