HIV blood tests rolled out to Leicester hospitals
It's World Aids Day and it's been announced that opt-out blood tests for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C will be rolled out across Leicester's Hospitals as part of a Government trial.
Leicester has a higher than average infection rate - and it's hoped the programme, which will cost twenty million pounds across the country, will lead to earlier diagnoses and treatment.
Ady Dayman hears from Professor Kevin Fenton, senior public health expert from Public Health England, and speaks to Mercy Shibemba from Leicester who was born with the HIV virus and is an activist for young people living with the condition.
