North Yorkshire knife crime up 7% over three years
Steve Jordan looks at the work being done by Selby's frontline police officers to tackle knife crime.
Research by ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio York has revealed that knife crime in our area has gone up by 7% over three years. Despite this, the knife crime rate in North Yorkshire remains below the national average.
This comes as a teenager from Harrogate has been jailed for life after he murdered his friend by stabbing him at a house party earlier this year. Seb Mitchell died on 21 February, two days after he was stabbed through the heart with a kitchen knife during an argument. Seb died a week before his 18th birthday.
