Ella Thompson is the founder of Girls Who Walk, an Manchester group combatting loneliness with coffee, chat and a stroll.

"It's such an amazing way for girls to come together" Ella told 5 Live Drive.

She says she missed the fun, social environment of university after she moved back home to Bolton, so started organising the walks through Instagram as a free and accessible way to meet new people. The walks have become very popular, and the group have expanded to other events - from movie nights to 'speed friending' dinners.
