Doctors in Distress: 'NHS workers are unhappier than they've ever been'

Amandip Sidhu founded Doctors in Distress in 2018, after his brother Jagdip Sidhu took his own life. Jagdip was a cardiologist, and the overwhelming work pressure he faced was cited as a reason for his death.

Doctors in Distress aims to protect the mental health of healthcare professionals, offering free support programmes. Amandip talked to 5 Live Drive about the increasing problems NHS workers are facing, and the taboo of mental health within the profession. "Talking to colleagues is very hard" he said, "allied health professionals are unhappier than they've ever been, in the history of the NHS".
