Pistorius trial: Steenkamp lawyer "nothing will bring Reeva back"
The lawyer representing the family of Reeva Steenkamp has told 5 Live that "nothing will bring Reeva back" after her killer, Oscar Pistorius, has been released from prison on parole.
The Paralympic gold-medallist shot the law graduate and model multiple times through a door in 2013, claiming he mistook her for a burglar.
The Steenkamp family lawyer told 5 Live’s Chris Warburton that although nothing will bring Reeva back, today's judgement is a signal that gender-based violence won't be tolerated.
Speaking about Reeva's mother, June, Tania Koen said "Her focus cannot be on him [Oscar], it must be on Reeva and surviving everyday without her".
