Nine London schools have been named as new 鈥渁ttendance hubs鈥� as the Government attempts to tackle what it called a 'truancy crisis' in education.

This action has been taken to deal with the surge in children classed as persistently absent from school following the Covid pandemic.

More than one in five children are now classed as such. Before the pandemic, the figure was one in ten.

蜜芽传媒 Radio London's Salma El-Wardany has been speaking to the headteacher of one of these new attendance hubs to find out what is being done.
