Astwood Bank postmaster ‘not a criminal any more’
In 2022 we spoke to the widow of Julian Wilson, the Worcestershire man who was wrongfully convicted in the Post Office Horizon scandal.
Our reporter Alistair Binney met Karen Wilson when she was giving evidence to a public enquiry in to one of the largest miscarriages of justice in British history.
Between 2000 and 2014, more than 700 Post Office branch managers were wrongly accused of theft, fraud and false accounting due to a flaw in the Horizon accounting IT system.
Julian had previously tried to warn the Post Office that there was a problem in the accounts, but was still charged. It had a huge emotional impact on his life. Sadly, Julian didn't live to see his conviction overturned, but his wife Karen did.
This is their story.
Interview first broadcast in February 2022.
