Elvis and Priscilla impersonators: 'There's a resurgence in the younger generation'
Charlie Harper and Lauren Knight are two Elvis Presley mega-fans who are keeping the image of the singer, and his wife Priscilla, alive with their dedicated impersonations.
The pair met at an Elvis convention. Talking to 5 Live Drive's Clare McDonnell, Charlie spoke about his excitement for the upcoming "Elvis Evolution" show, which will use AI and old footage to create a performance experience - similar to the wildly successful ABBA Voyage concert. "It is like watching Elvis," he said, "it's the closet thing our generation will get."
Lauren enthused about the resurgence in The King's popularity, which she puts down to the recent biopics of both Elvis and Priscilla. "It's a wonderful thing, because the last thing we want is for that to die" she said.
The Elvis Experience is set to premiere in London in November 2024.
