Meet Cecil - the dog who ate $4000 in cash
Cecil the dog gave his owners a big surprise when he tucked into the most expensive meal of his life - $4000 in cash.
Clayton and Carrie Law from Pennsylvania talked to 5 Live Drive about sifting through the chewed up - and partially digested - pieces of cash to try and retrieve some of the money. Although this wasn't a pleasant job, they did manage to get most of it back.
Clayton says Cecil is usually fine with food left out, so it’s a mystery why he went for the cash. "Money changes hands so much, so it could have been certain smells," he told Drive's Tony Livesey, "I have no idea why he did it".
And they say they can’t blame Cecil for his unusual appetite: "Unexpected things happen, you just have to roll with it" Carrie said.
