Heckling disrupts Leigh council meeting
A town council meeting in Leigh-on-Sea was abandoned because some residents began to heckle the councillors. As a result of the disturbance, Essex Police were called but didn't attend. Lydia Hyde, a Labour councillor on Southend City Council and Bernard Arscott, the Conservative chairman of Leigh-on-Sea Town Council were there.
