Unwell Lewes woman left in the cold
Debbie Aldridge has fibromyalgia, asthma and a heart condition but has been without heating or hot water for nine days despite repeated requests to her housing provider.
She spoke to Danny Pike.
Southern Housing sent us this statement.
"Our engineer has been working today to repair the boiler in Ms Aldridge’s home. We’ve agreed an appointment with Ms Aldridge to continue the repair in the morning and expect all work to complete tomorrow (Wednesday).
We apologise to Ms Aldridge for the time it has taken to carry out the repair work to her boiler. We’re providing temporary electrical heating to Ms Aldridge while we complete this work.
A local mains water outage caused a delay in us being able to diagnose the cause of the issue. We also had to wait for our supply chain to provide a specialist electrical part to enable us to complete the repair.
Our team will continue to support Ms Aldridge whilst we resolve this issue."
