Martin Lewis reveals in three simple steps how people can sniff out the best deal on their phone tariffs if they want to save money.

He says a free text service will tell you if you're out of contract or not. Then, enter in your data usage into a comparison website to get the best deal and take that to your mobile provider.

If they don't give you a good enough deal, Martin urges people to "get through to disconnections, internally known as 'customer retentions'.

"Their job is to keep you鈥�, he says.

Finally a simple text to PAC on 65075 will transfer your existing number.
