Google buys North Weald Airfield land
Technology company Google has bought 52 acres of historic North Weald Airfield. The technology giant has yet to confirm its plans for the site, although it could build a data centre similar to the one under construction in nearby Hertfordshire.
Epping Forest District Council have said that “North Weald Airfield will continue to function as an operational aerodrome as part of the plans, which also include the delivery of a new combined Control Tower and Fire Station”.
