Thousands of trees felled on the A590
On the A590 in Cumbria thousands of ash trees are being removed for safety reasons by National Highways in a £2 million felling operation. The work is being done now ahead of the bird nesting season. It's hoped that some ash trees will be resistant to the disease, and again be a common sight in Cumbria.
