Could Asian hornets arrive in Norfolk?
With Spring around the corner - beekeepers are beginning to make plans to protect themselves from a new non-native species that is decimating hives. The Asian Hornet is an aggressive invasive species, and was first spotted in the UK in 2016. They are a top predator of honeybees. They also prey on other native pollinators like bumblebees so can have a serious impact on the ecosystem. Stacy Cronly-Dillon is from Sunnyfields Apiaries in Hedenham and tells Edd Smith more.
