Urswick Tarn snapping turtle find
Fluffy the alligator snapping turtle has been rescued from a Cumbrian tarn. Native to the swamps and rivers of the American south, this non-native resident has probably out grown its original owner and been left to fend for itself. It was found by parish councillor Denise Chamberlain, who has lived in Florida, and she immediately recognised it, and took it to the local vet.
