Bromsgrove Artrix: 'use it or lose it'

Hear why bosses at the much-loved Worcestershire theatre need people power to stay, after enjoying a booming few months, four years after being forced to close.

In 2020 The Artrix in Bromsgrove had to declare itself insolvent - leading to question marks over the viability of smaller performance venues across the country.

Since October the site has managed to re-open, thanks to The Core Theatre in Solihull temporarily relocating its shows there - and people across Worcestershire have responded in their droves. More than 16,500 tickets have been sold at The Artrix in just four months, with dozens of sell-outs.

Our reporter Tom Edwards investigates, with performers The Fortunes and Kyle Daisley from Bromsgrove Community Arts.

From April, the volunteer group will take the building back over from The Core - they're currently putting together a detailed plan of what will be on at the venue for the rest of the 2024.
