Tony Downey - the former Hawkshead sub-postmaster - fled to Spain after he lost his livelihood because of the Horizon scandal. He and his wife Carol were forced to pay 35 thousand pounds of their own savings to make up for 鈥渓osses鈥� that never existed. They ended up with just 拢10 thousand in compensation.
