Hawkshead sub-postmaster returns to village
Tony Downey - the former Hawkshead sub-postmaster - fled to Spain after he lost his livelihood because of the Horizon scandal. He and his wife Carol were forced to pay 35 thousand pounds of their own savings to make up for “losses” that never existed. They ended up with just £10 thousand in compensation. Now their battle to get their money back is being seen as a test case. The ѿý’s Business correspondent, Emma Simpson, was with Tony when he returned to Hawkshead for the first time…
