Bernie Sanders: 'I worry about democracy'
Senator Bernie Sanders tells 5 Live he worries about the state of democracy, the year America welcomes US Presidential Elections.
Senator Bernie Sanders tells 5 Live he worries for the state of democracy - both in America and the rest of the world.
When asked if he's ever wondered what sort of a world he'll leave for his grandchildren, Bernie highlighted his concerns about the state of climate change and of democracy.
"I get very nervous about the state of democracy in the United States, I know there are a lot of people who are concerned about Biden... but [I] have no doubt, even on his worse day, Biden is a thousand times better than Donald Trump ", he said.
He was speaking ahead of the highly-contested US Elections later this year – in which both President Biden and Donald Trump are running again.
"If Trump gets elected President, don't just think this is an American issue, he will use the power of the United States, which is enormous, to push right-wing governments, create right-wing governments.
"Everybody on this planet who believes in democracy should be worried about what happens in the United States", he finished.
