Former Worcester Warrior discusses smart gumshield
Smart gumshields that record the gravitational forces involved in collision sports are being used in the men’s Six Nations for the first time.
They’re designed to make the game safer and World Rugby said independent research showed most of the forces experienced in the game were the same as general exercise - like running and skipping.
But some scientists have said they’re concerned that some of the data around big impacts – the ones that can cause concussions – could be missed.
Our reporter Felicity Kvesic has been looking into this - tell us about these gumshields?
