Norfolk Chief Constable: Officers are accountable
A Norfolk police officer has been cleared of misconduct charges after crashing into a car and then driving off. PC Karl Warren shunted in the back of another car on the A146 near Lowestoft. He didn’t stop to exchange details or report the crash. PC Warren said he had a condition that caused memory loss, and doctors said he suffered an epileptic seizure while driving. He faced a misconduct hearing, which accepted his evidence and dismissed the case. Norfolk’s Chief Constable Paul Sanford told Chris Goreham how he felt about the case.
