The man who pushed a wheelbarrow from Land's End
Bob Carlisle was living in St Austell in 1878 and became known for various Pedestrianism events.
Walking or running was a huge sport in Victorian times.
In 1879 he decided to to walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back.
He did this while pushing a wheelbarrow.
