Hidden: Headingley's lost bear pit
Building work has begun on Headingley’s historic Bear Pit. The pit was opened in the 1840’s and stayed open for two decades, before being left in ruins after visitor numbers began to dwindle. Leeds Civic Trust purchased the site in the 1960’s and have finally managed to secure funds to restore the forgotten attraction. Martin Hamilton from Leeds Civic Trust outlines the charities ideas for the site.
