Petition demands justice for cat hit and runs
Should drivers be held accountable if they fail to stop and report it if they hit a cat?
One Herefordshire family, along with over 42 thousand other people who've signed their petition, certainly think so!
Russell Gilbert and his family started the petition after their cat Mr J was hit by a car... and the driver left their beloved pet on the side of the road to die.
Currently, drivers are only required to stop and report accidents involving dogs and other working animals like horses, cattle, pigs, goats and sheep.
But Russell and his family want to see that extended to cats.
Malcolm Boyden speaks with Russell Gilbert and his partner Mia.
