Dozens of schoolchildren have been kidnapped in different schools in Nigeria’s northwest. Some of the pupils are below the age of 10. Their abductors are demanding ransoms but government insists that they will be rescued. Gist Nigeria’s Mercy Frank looks at the reasons for the resurgence of mass school kidnappings in Nigeria and the ordeal that parents are enduring.
