24 week delay for Essex driving tests
A freedom of information request by the AA has revealed learner drivers in many parts of Essex are waiting an average of five-and-a-half months for their driving test.
As of 29 January, the worst affected areas included Basildon, Loughton and Tilbury, whereas in Colchester the average waiting time had fallen to just 15 weeks.
Claire Fry is from CM Driving School in Chelmsford and has been speaking about the possible reasons for the delays learners are experiencing.
