Flooding on Chemical Lane
The flooding on Chemical Lane has been affecting business owners in the surrounding area. These include Carl Belford, Belford Bros, and Phillip Moore of Moores Metals.
Staffordshire County Council have responded saying:
“We do have a temporary solution in place to pump any excess water from the road, however, we continue to work with the various parties on the design of a more permanent scheme which will help prevent the road from flooding during times of heavy rain.”
Network Rail says:
"We have checked the drainage under the railway and there are no issues, however the local stream owned by a third party is blocked and can back up onto the road. We will continue to work with the Council to see how we can help clear the road for local residents and businesses as soon as possible.”
And Severn Trent Water have told us that the running and maintenance of the pump isn't their responsibility as it's been donated.
