Community calls to save Penn pub
Laura Chiverton speaks to Marlene Benson who was a landlady at The Old Stags Head in Penn for nearly 40 years, and Debbie Peach who is the Chair of the Penn Residents Association.
The new owner who has put the pub up for sale while seeking planning permission for the house said in this latest application that he had provided evidence 'that a public house use is not a viable proposition - adding that these plans will secure the optimum viable use of a redundant building and will inject significant investment into the site.'
Wolverhampton City Council says : “We remain supportive of the residents and would very much like to see the historic use of The Old Stags Head as a community pub, re-established.”
