Normacot property riddled with damp and mould
Laura Walters says the damp and mould in her private rented home is affecting her young son's health.
We've approached Laura's landlord for a comment.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council says:
“Having failed to get the landlord of Ms Walters’ property to address the disrepair issues through an informal approach, we issued an improvement notice which includes a requirement to carry out a damp and mould survey and electrical works by a specified date. This notice expires at the end of this week so, once we have reviewed the case, we will contact Ms Walters to see how we can help her further.
“Due to the current demand for two-bed properties, we have not been able to offer Ms Walters a property, however, all active housing applications are dealt with in accordance to the council’s allocation policy.”
