Mitigating against blood loss whilst operating on a liver
55-year-old Lisa is being operated on to remove tumours that have spread to her liver. The liver holds 13% of the body's blood supply, so to reduce the risk of blood loss, anaesthetist Sanjay has to keep Lisa's hydration as low as possible.
