Barnard Castle power cuts 'costing us thousands'
People running businesses in Barnard Castle say they’ve lost thousands of pounds due to a spate of unexpected power cuts.
The cuts have affected a 120 business and residential properties on one side of the towns market place. Traders say 8 have been reported since last July.
Northern Power Grid say the problems have been linked to fuses at the local power station but have told business owners there’ll be no compensation due to the cuts lasting less than 12 hours.
Amy Oakden speaks to Fiona Brookes, owner of Brookes outfitters and tailors.
