Is the future bleak for London's department stores?
Plans for offices, shops and a rooftop garden at the former Fenwick department store have been approved by Westminster Council.
Fenwick, which has occupied the New Bond Street site since 1891, closed earlier this year. It now joins Debenhams and House of Fraser in shutting a flagship London store in recent years.
So what is the future of the London department store as we know it? And what impact it will have on our big shopping high streets?
