Smashed plaque to be replaced
Mindless vandalism is how the family of a coventry police officer killed in the line of duty have described the smashing of a memorial plaque dedicated in his honour.
PC Peter Guthrie was shot and killed at point blank range whilst investigating a break in at a gun shop in Coventry in 1972. He was just 21.
A memorial plaque was dedicated to him on Far Gosford Street, near to the place he was killed but over the weekend it was found smashed to pieces.
His sister is Lindsey Blundell andthe chair of the Police Memorial Trust have been speaking to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR.
