'Protected Species' re-introduced to Wyre Forest
We're on site as a family of beavers who were nearly hunted to extinction, and brought back from the brink, make their new home near Kidderminster.
They're described as a vital part of our ecosystems, and their dams can even help during periods of flood, as well as drought.
This week, four beavers were released into Wyre Forest. They're being kept in a five-hectare enclosure, fenced off from the public areas of the forest so they can settle in in peace.
Our reporter Gavin Kermack pulled on his wellies for a behind-the-scenes peek with Tom Simpson, Senior Reserve Manager with Natural England.
